On Saturday night I was privileged enough to be invited to the launch of underground Australian label SheKudo’s premier collection.
Childhood friends and and SheKudo designing duo Amy Iheakanwa and Shetu Simons first started designing together after a shared frustration over being unable to find clothes that suited their style and fit their “African booties.”
To a hiphop soundtrack SheKudo’s models danced down the runway, adorned in a fluid fusion of African inspired prints & modern shapes. The cool colour palette contrasted the bold prints and denim shirting resulting in a very wearable collection with some beautiful silhouettes, and I am loving their very chic two-tone shirts. With stand out pieces such as their white long sleeve playsuit, this is defiantly a label I will be keeping my eye on!
