Sometimes you come across a designer that just strikes a certain chord for you, and it’s instant love. I had one such experience on a recent shopping trip in Surry Hills where I was drawn to this amazing graphite leather skirt (pictured below). It was one of those situations of “right time at the right place,” as this asymmetric by-textral skirt is the perfect “leather mini” staple for summer, and just what my wardrobe has been desiring.
On further investigation I discovered my find was no one-off but part of  a beautiful collection by Sydney based designer Dannika Zen. It always puts a smile on my face to come across an amazing Australian designer previously unbeknown to me, so I had to share.

Her SS 13 collection is a an edgy mix of leather panelling, camo printed fabrics and varsity jackets with a sport lux feel to it – Instant Love!
Other than her Graphite Leather Skirt I mentioned, Some other stand out pieces of her collection such as her leather & fur vests & oversized pocket shorts have cemented my love for Dannika Zen and I know this is going to be one to watch!

This is not Dannika’s first collection either!  Her previous collections Voyages & Voyages II are defiantly worth checking out here, and carry that same edgy style that drew me in originally. With the plans underway for her Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection I can’t to see where this young label will go – WATCH THIS SPACE !
